Actor Prajwal Devaraj will now turn producer with his home production titled, Neenade Naa. Prajwal confesses that he can actually afford to get a little choosy on the scripts.

His character in ‘Murali Meets Meera’, Bhadra and Geleya still remain fresh in the minds of people. The young star only seems to be growing more humble with every new project. That trait he says he clearly picked up from his parents.

There’s anticipation and a lot of excitement surrounding Prajwal as he keeps his fingers crossed for the release of Neenade Naa in the first week of October where he appears in four different getups.

Prajwal is confident that this project will bring about a sea change in his image and after the movie has released, the pattern of stories offered to him would be different. “I would like to work on subjects that would not just have commercial value but will allow scope for good performance as well,” Prajwal tells Metrolife.

The credit for choosing the title of the film goes to Prajwal, “The title gives people an idea about the spirit of the story. It talks about the concept of love where boys and girls can remain good friends and don’t always have to end up falling in love. It’s a very new-age film,” explains Prajwal.

Talking more about their production house, Prajwal reveals, “Our first production will be directed by Kadhal Kandhas. While shooting for Angaraka, I heard an interesting subject from ‘Kadhal.’  The script was narrated to my father and we liked the story and decided to go ahead with it. The film will have two heroines and I will be playing a school boy.”

He also confesses that it’s going to be a challenge to lose weight and trim down to look like a school-goer. He also has three other shades in the movie. “I had to lose weight to look like a school kid, in another scene I play a college-goer and in another I don a bearded look. I had to lose 11 kgs and look as original as I could in all the scenes,” he adds.

Prajwal and his father play an interesting role in a PC Shekar directorial titled, ‘Arjuna.’ “The two of us have always played a lot of father-son characters but here we play opposing roles. My father plays a cop and I essay a character that I’ve never played before,” he explains.

About how it is to act with his father? Prajwal recollects, “A lot of my friends in the film industry said that they trembled when they acted opposite my father but I wondered why they said that. But I understood exactly what they meant when I was in a similar situation.”

He elaborates, “There’s a scene in Arjuna where I come face-to-face with my father and reel out a couple of hard dialogues. I could actually feel my hands tremble when I faced my father in that scene. He’s a brilliant actor.”
