 Arriving in the City on Tuesday, participants from the ‘3rd Annual Mumbai Xpress-Autorickshaw Challenge’ expedition comprising 13 teams, made heads turn as they drove around in 15 colourful, custom-built autorickshaws.

 After passing through Vellore and Bangalore, the teams will reach via Mysore, Mangalore and Pune.  Speaking about the association with Mumbai Xpress, Vishweshwara Kulur, chairman, Bangalore Metropolitan Round Table 44 said, “This is the second year we are associating with Mumbai Xpress.”

Thomas and Melanie, participants from the ‘Ruby Murray’ team, Australia who are participating in Mumbai Xpress for the first time were clearly excited. When asked about why they were participating in the challenge, they said, “We felt that this was the best possible way for us to see India the way we want to.  We wanted to experience and understand the culture of India. It definitely is an adventure, but not for the faint hearted.” 

The youngest participants in the lot, Joseph and Alexander, participating for the first time, from the ‘Quickshaw’ team are both 18 and hail from London. They said, “We were looking for some pure adventure and thrill during our vacation before entering the university. ”
