Bengaluru: The Bengaluru Smart City Ltd on Friday inaugurated an annexe building on the premises of the Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium in Bengaluru at a cost of approximately Rs 42 crore.

Named after Indian space scientist UR Rao, the facility features a 600-seater auditorium, a lecture hall, and a six-metre observatory telescope, among other amenities.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Assembly Speaker UT Khader, Legislative Council Chairman Basavaraj Horatti, Ministers Krishna Byre Gowda and Priyank Kharge, and Bangalore Association for Science Education Chairman Arshad were among the dignitaries present at the inauguration.
