Adopting RWH has been made compulsory by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) and failure to comply with would result in disconnection of water and sanitary lines.
The Board has set December 31 as the deadline. According to the records with the BWSSB, 29,854 houses have abided by the rule and 20,000-odd houses are yet to install RWH system. The Board had recently directed its staff to meet the owners of the houses who have not fallen in line. At a recent meeting, the Board decided that the staff will also visit residences in their areas to sensitise public on the project. The meeting decided to reach out to people through social networking, advertisements in newspapers and magazines.
Officials said the deadlines were set time and again and programmes had been conducted
to create awareness among the residents.
