Theatre artists from Rangavasantha trust on Monday staged protest against Karnataka government for its negligence towards 'Kalagrama' auditorium that was partially damaged due to fire accident in December 2018.

Sporting various costumes that depict different characters of plays, theatre artists protested in front of Kalagrama. Stagging various street plays, and along with stage songs, protestors also conducted the signature campaign to divert the government's attention towards it.

"Government doesn't need five months to address an issue. The theatre groups around this Kalagrama were mainly dependent on this auditorium. But from five months we don't have a proper place to stage our plays. We cannot afford private auditoriums, so I urge govt to look into the issue and help the poor theatre groups," Ajay Kumar, founder of Rangavasantha Trust told DH.
