Bengaluru: The state cabinet — which met on Thursday — has approved the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike’s proposal to acquire 38 acres and 18 guntas of land in Doddaballapura taluk from Terra Firma Biotechnologies Private Limited for the creation of an integrated solid waste management facility.
The land will be acquired as per the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency Act, 2013.
In addition, the cabinet approved the allotment of 46 acres and 3 guntas of government land, currently under the custody of the Revenue Department, to the BBMP at 50 per cent of the market value.
Furthermore, Terra Firma had taken about 22 acres and 1 gunta of land from farmers on a lease and rental agreement basis. The cabinet also gave its nod to compensate these landowners directly.
In total, the cabinet approved the proposal to take possession of 134 acres of land in Doddaballapura taluk, where the BBMP plans to process and compost the city’s garbage.
