The state government has changed its nominee for the panel to select the new Vice-Chancellor (V-C) for Bengaluru City University (BCU).
Following the nomination of S Japhet, former V-C of the same university, to represent the government, which was challenged in court, the government has replaced him by appointing D Shivalingaiah, former V-C of the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU).
The tenure of Lingaraja Gandhi ended on April 21, and senior dean Jalaja KR is serving as acting V-C.
Though the committee to select the new V-C was constituted on March 29, it has not been able to meet as the government nominee was challenged.
