Karnataka High Court today stayed acquisition of land by the Karnataka Industrial Area Development Board for the Indian cricket board to establish an academy in Devanahalli here.

Justice Ram Mohan Reddy stayed the acquisition of around 60 acres by KIADB for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), observing cricket was not a "business venture".

The interim order was issued on petitions by owners of the land who challenged the acquisition on the ground that cricket was not an industry.
