Bengaluru: Even as the BBMP has been clearing vending carts and clearing footpaths occupied by the street vendors, Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Friday came to the rescue of the street vendors. He that the government has an obligation to protect the livelihood of these vendors.

He asked the BBMP to identify places where the street vendors could carry out their daily activities. 

Reddy intervened after the street vendors held protests in the city for the last four days against the BBMP.
