KIA faces major disruptions amid tensions in West Asia Between Monday and Tuesday morning, 16 international flights — six inbound and 10 outbound — were cancelled. All cancellations were directly related to the limited airspace in the region around the ongoing conflict.

Amidst the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel in West Asia, international flights at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru faced significant disruptions on June 23 and 24.

With growing unrest in the region, several key airspaces, including Qatar, the UAE and Bahrain, were temporarily closed, causing several disruptions and cancellations. 

Between Monday and Tuesday morning, 16 international flights — six inbound and 10 outbound — were cancelled. All cancellations were directly related to the limited airspace in the region around the ongoing conflict. 

Among the cancelled inbound flights were an Air India service from London, an Akasa Air flight from Abu Dhabi, a Kuwait Airways flight from Kuwait city and three IndiGo services from Kuwait, Jeddah and Abu Dhabi. 

The list of cancelled departures included four IndiGo flights to Dubai, Jeddah, Abu Dhabi and Doha, two Air India Express services to Dammam and Abu Dhabi and a Kuwait Airways flight to Kuwait city.
