The map shows the two routes for vehicles arriving and leaving the airport. The route marked in red will provide reference for vehicles dropping passengers off at the terminal and the route marked in green will guide the vehicles picking up arriving passengers.
To streamline traffic moving in and out of the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA), a lateral segregation of the departure and arrival zones has been introduced with immediate effect. There will now be two separate routes for vehicle drop-offs and pick-ups at the terminal. The new rule will apply to both cabs and self-driven cars.
The Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL) has urged drivers to adhere to the designated routes while dropping off and picking up passengers. Appropriate signage have been installed at the various vantage points to re-direct passengers to the new routes.
Additional staff have been deployed to assist the passengers. Changes to the new routes are aligned with the departure and arrival gates for ease of movement, a BIAL release said.
Vehicle Drop-Off Traffic The route for passenger drop-off remains unchanged. Vehicles coming from the city will take the usual left at the Main Access Road (MAR) towards the terminal building. Follow the way finding signage to exit the airport.
Vehicle Pick-Up Traffic People coming to receive passengers and heading towards arrival need to continue straight instead of turning left at the Main Access Road, like they would previously. Vehicles will be required to drive past the parking lot and take a left after the traffic signal to reach arrival gates 11-13. After picking up the passengers, all vehicles will have to follow the way finding signage to exit the airport.
