Residents of Koramangala take part in a run to redevelop the Mestripalya Lake on Sunday.

The residents of Koramangala came together to form a trust to revive the Mestripalya Lake in southeastern Bengaluru.

The residents conducted a 3K run called 'Wake The Lake' on Sunday morning near the waterbody. According to the residents, the purpose of the run is to rejuvenate the lake through a dedicated trust.

More than 50 residents participated in the event. "The event was all about our Mestripalya Lake. There is a need to revive the lake. For the past five years, nothing has been done to redevelop the lake. So, through this programme, all the resident welfare associations in the neighbourhood are united and we will together work to revive the lake," said Raghu Rajagopal, a local resident. "Through this effort, we are considering a public-private and government partnership to redevelop the lake," he said.
