The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday again questioned the maintainability of a PIL filed by unsuccessful candidates of the KPSC (Karnataka Public Service Commission) 2011 batch.
Unsuccessful candidates have questioned the malpractices in the selection process by the KPSC to the posts of gazetteD probationers Group A and B.
During the hearing, senior counsel M B Naragund stated that the CID report revealed that members of the selection committee had demanded Rs 1.5 crore for the recruitment of assistant commissioners and Rs 30 lakh for the recruitment of education officers in the government.
The petitioners have questioned the state government’s stand in the matter contending that it was the state government which had ordered a CID investigation into the matter and found mass malpractice in the selection process.
They have said that tainted candidates were given appointments, but now the government is blindly following Karnataka Administrative Tribunal orders. The matter was adjourned to Friday.
