Bengaluru: A 23-year-old man was killed in a road crash involving a KSRTC bus in the Seshadripuram traffic police station limits on Monday evening.

Around 8.15 pm, Jyothikrishnan, a food delivery driver, was riding on his scooter on Platform Road towards KMF Junction to deliver an order. He lost control of his scooter and fell on the road near a church. The KSRTC bus (KA-13-F-2476) ran him over, causing severe head injuries.

Passersby and traffic policemen rushed Jyothikrishnan, a Tamil Nadu native residing near Magadi Road, to Bowring Hospital, but he was declared dead on the way.

A case has been registered at the Seshadripuram traffic police station under BNS sections 281 and 106 for rash and negligent driving and causing death by negligence, and Section 134 (A and B) read with Section 187 of the Motor Vehicles Act, which deals with the duty of a driver involved in a motor vehicle accident to provide assistance to the injured and report the accident.
