The police department on Saturday beefed up security in the city after the Sri Lankan army chief in an interview claimed that the Easter Sunday suicide bombers had visited Bengaluru, Kashmir and Kerala.

Senior police officers held a meeting and decided to increase deployment of security personnel at churches, malls, temples and public places and conduct inspections in sensitive areas and intensify patrolling.

Apart from that, security drills will also be conducted in public places including bus stands, railway stations, airports, malls, cinema halls and hotels and commercial establishments to avoid any untoward incidents.
