City police arrested five persons who beat up a 28-year-old food delivery staff for bringing the order half an hour late in Domlur Layout, Halasuru, on May 4.

Later, Kumar himself filed a complaint at the Halasuru police station based on which the police arrested the accused, Krishna, Appu and three others on Monday.

In his complaint to the police, Kumar said the accused had ordered food online around 6.45 pm. Kumar, after confirming the order, went near Agarwal Hospital as mentioned in the address.

When he reached the place, Krishna and others abused him in filthy language for the delay and started beating him when he objected to their behaviour.

The group of five then delivered punches, kicking and even breaking Kumar’s fingers, before snatching the food packets and shoving him away.

Police said the group did not want to pay up for the food as it arrived late and were reasoning with Kumar which escalated into fisticuffs.
