Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath highlighted three areas of focus: lighting arrangements, garbage management, and first-aid facilities.

“First-aid booths with doctors will be set up at multiple points, as they were last year, based on police department designations,” he said. Adequate lighting will also be installed to enhance security, while timely waste collection has been assured.

No leave for BBMP staff

To ensure uninterrupted services, the Urban Development Department has directed all BBMP officials and staff to refrain from taking leave during the first week of January.

A notification issued by the Deputy Chief Secretary emphasised that leave should not be granted to subordinates during this period, citing the need for seamless municipal operations and prompt public grievance resolution.

As Bengaluru readies itself for the celebrations, a mix of festive enthusiasm, strict measures, and civic vigilance promises a memorable and secure start to 2025.
