Bengaluru: 'Book Brahma' is organising a literature festival focused on South Indian languages from August 8 to 10.
The three-day event will feature around 180 panel discussions across eight parallel stages, with over 350 writers, scholars, and artists. It will also host eight cultural programmes.
Sessions will be held in five languages — Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and English.
"A new tradition begins this year. One Indian language outside South India will be featured annually. This year, it is Marathi. Next year, it could be Bengali or another major language,” said Satish Chapparike, festival director.
Notable speakers include Bhanumathi Mustak, Deepa Bhasthi, Chandrashekhar Kambar, Damodar Mauzo, TM Krishna, S Diwakar, Manu S Pillai, Paul Zacharia, and Adoor Gopalakrishnan.
