E Vijay (36) is said to have been depressed in spite of securing good marks in the recently concluded exams. Till late Sunday night he discussed at length with his father V Eshwar, a lecturer. But Vijay was found hanging when the parents returned home from their work, police said.

Hameed (41), a businessman from Tamil Nadu, committed suicide in the same locality. Rasheed, a friend of Hameed, told the police that Hameed was and depressed after he suffered major losses in his business.

Mowed down by train

A retired Doordarshan employee was run over by a speeding train near Gokul in Mathikere on Monday morning.

Railway police gave the name of the deceased as Vasan alias Vyasa Raj (69), a resident of Mathikere.

He worked at Chennai Doordarshan. Around 7 am, he set out on a morning walk, listening music.  He was so engrossed in the music that he failed to notice Kannur Express train, which rammed into him, killing him on the spot.

Two found dead

A middle aged man's body was found hanging from a tree on a convent school campus on Old Madras Road, early Monday morning. The Indiranagar police found a few chits in his pocket with telephone numbers and when contacted, it is learnt that he was Varadaraj (41) from Dindigal in Tamil Nadu.

Interestingly, the Tamil Nadu police, in turn have alerted the local cops that Varadaraj, along with his friends had visited Chennai and had gone missing, since last week. He was into business and was unhappy as there were some family problems.
A 31-year-old marketing agent was found dead in a lodge on Cottonpet Main Road on Monday. The deceased was identified as Arun Anand from Chennai.

He had booked a room in Lucky Inn lodge recently. He did not come out of the room for couple of days. The lodge authorities informed police as stench emanated from the room. The body was found in a highly decomposed state. The identity of the dead was established on the basis of a mobile phone number on a piece of paper found inside the room, said the police.

Arun was found hanging from  the ceiling fan. In a death note he requested his family to take care of his son, added the police.

House burgled

Thieves struck at a house and fled with Rs 6,000 and a gold ring in Rajajinagar II Block on Saturday evening, the police said.

The theft took place when, Ramachandra, a resident of 9th main road, A block, Rajajinagar II Block, went outside locking his house around 7.30 pm. When he returned home after a couple of hours, he was shocked to see the front door open. The thieves had broken open the door to gain entry into the house.
