Traders at Madiwala market have demanded the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to prepare a list of beneficiaries for the 440-shop market proposed to be built in Madiwala.
The traders said that a few of them were operating at Madiwala market for more than 50 years and they should be given priority while allotting shops in the new buildilng.
The market, maintained by the BBMP, spreads over 1.2 sq km and has around 500 shops. They have submitted a memorandum to BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad. The commissioner has promised the traders to look into their demands.
