Bengaluru: A man attempted suicide by jumping in front of an approaching metro train at the Nadaprabhu Kemepegowda station in Majestic on Saturday afternoon.
The man has been identified as Veeresh (40), who works as a D-group employee in Vidhana Soudha library. Police said he is out of danger, and the reason for the suicide attempt is not yet known. The police have registered a case under 'attempt to suicide'.
Veeresh jumped off platform 3 on the Green Line running between Madavara and Silk Institute at 3.17 pm. On ground BMRCL staff immediately turned off the power supply and ran to his rescue.
The passenger was rescued and moved to Victoria hospital.
During this period, trains were operating only between Madhavara to Rajajinagar and National college to Silk Institute metro stations on the Green line. Regular Metro operations on the green line resumed at 3:47 pm.
