Bengaluru: Adugodi police have arrested a miscreant for brandishing a weapon, threatening a shopkeeper and demanding free cigarettes. The arrested suspect is Gautham, 25.

A video of the incident that occurred on February 4 has gone viral on social media. The video showed the suspect arguing with the shopkeeper and brandishing a sharp weapon resembling a machete.

The shopkeeper told the police that the suspect had threatened him after he asked the money for a packet of cigarettes and a matchbox.

Gautham was subsequently traced and placed under arrest. He has been booked under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act and sent to judicial custody.
