There was tension at Hongasandara in Bommanhalli after a 32-year-old man, who was drunk, committed suicide by holding a live wire after climbing atop a garment factory building on Friday evening.

During the act, onlookers made no effort to stop the deceased, Raja Thimmarayappa, but instead recorded the incident on their mobile phones.

Thimmarayappa was a native of Krishnagiri in Tamil Nadu and living in Balaji Layout with his wife and two children. His family members said he was unemployed and addicted to alcohol. His wife works as a housekeeping staffer. Thimmarayappa came home on and off and picked fights with his wife frequently.
