Bengaluru: A man who clicked photos of the crowd inside a moving metro train landed in trouble after a woman passenger objected to his action and later lodged a police complaint.
According to Namma Metro officials, the incident occurred on December 25, when a man was caught allegedly recording videos and clicking photographs of women on a train going from Majestic towards JP Nagar on the Green Line.
A woman who noticed this reportedly complained to the security guard at the Jayanagar metro station after deboarding, who promptly checked the man’s phone and found nearly 50 photos and video clips, a senior metro official said.
“We fined him Rs 500 for inconveniencing other passengers under Section 59 (C) of the Metro Railways (Operation and Maintenance) Act, 2002,” he added.
According to the Jayanagar police, a non-cognisable complaint was registered in this regard.
"The man, named Mahesh, was taking general photographs of the crowd in the moving metro train. The woman noticed that and objected to it, stating that she wanted it deleted as her face was also in the photo," said a police officer.
At the Jayanagar metro station, she called 112, prompting the police to take them both to the station. "He had not taken an objectionable photos on his phone, however, she wanted it deleted. We filed a non-cognisable report in this regard," the officer added.
