A 35-year-old man was found dead at Devarachikkanahalli in Mico Layout on Friday.
The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh, a resident of Bilekahalli and a native of Tamil Nadu.
Venkatesh, a carpenter, was residing in the City for the past 15 years with his wife and children. On Friday night, he told his family members he was going out to meet his friends, but he was found dead the next day, the police said.
On Friday evening, a few passersby noticed a body in a bush in a vacant land at Devarachikkanahalli and informed the police, who shifted the body for post-mortem.
The police said the body bore injuries on the neck caused by sharp objects. “The identity of the body was established after the police informed the family members who identified it. It is suspected that he was murdered by someone known to him,” said a senior police officer.
