A man has been found guilty of sexually assaulting his 14-year-old daughter on multiple occasions. A local court on Thursday sentenced him to five years' rigorous imprisonment and fined him Rs 10,000.
The 54th City Civil and Sessions Court pronounced the judgement in the case that was registered by the Hanumanthanagar police on the basis of a complaint filed by the girl's mother on August 29, 2017.
The woman said her husband sexually assaulted the girl over two years whenever she was away.
Police investigated the case, gathered evidence and took statements of witnesses before filing the charge sheet.
The accused was tried under several sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act and the Indian Penal Code.
