Mariswamappa (60), a resident of Kodipalya, was coming from Kengeri town on his moped when a car coming in the opposite direction rammed into his vehicle, as the signal at Madhu Petrol Bunk was turned off, around 10:30 pm.
As soon as the car driver took a right turn, it rammed into the two-wheeler. Mariswamappa died of severe head injuries.
The deceased owned a provision store in Kodipalya. The car driver is absconding.
