A 28-year-old man was arrested for raping his ex-colleague at her house in Austin Town.

The police arrested Mohammed Javed, a resident of Austin Town.

According to the police, the victim, who is originally from Mumbai used to work with the accused in a bar, which was shut down a couple of months back.

Javed had later joined a club in RT Nagar while the victim decided to leave the city.

On Friday evening around 7.30 pm, when the victim was packing her luggage, Javeed forced himself into her house and raped her.

When she raised an alarm, he fled the house.

She later informed her friends and lodged a complaint at the Ashok Nagar police station. She was admitted to the Bowring Hospital.

The suspect was arrested within hours after the victim lodged the complaint.

The investigation revealed that the accused is originally from Hyderabad and had come to the city in search of a job.
