The complaint stated that the accident occurred on November 26 between 4 pm and 4:15 pm near Hoysala Circle in Kengeri when a two-wheeler, riding recklessly, hit Shivayogi L (aged between 50-52 years), who was attempting to cross the road.

Shivayogi sustained injuries to his head, hands, and torso.

The complainant, Ravi M, along with others at the scene, helped by moving Shivayogi to the side of the road and offering him some water. One of the bystanders reportedly called for an ambulance, but Shivayogi declined emergency services. Ravi, who works at a nearby restaurant, did not report the incident, as Shivayogi appeared to be fine at the time. The victim was said to have walked 200 meters before sitting down on the footpath to rest.

However, on the morning of November 27, around 8 am, Ravi was informed that a man had been found dead on the footpath. Upon going to check, he realised the deceased was the same person from the accident. The victim’s identity was confirmed through ID documents found in his wallet.

An officer at the Kengeri traffic police station confirmed that Shivayogi was employed as a security guard in the city. A hit-and-run case has been registered against the rider of the two-wheeler, who fled the scene after the accident. Efforts are under way to arrest the rider and notify the victim’s relatives.
