A 34-year-old woman was stabbed to death by her husband over a family dispute in Dasarahalli, Bagalagunte, North Bengaluru, on Sunday night.

A senior police officer said that the couple had separated and Sunanda, along with her four-year-old daughter, lived with her mother in Banavara near Bagalagunte.

On the day of the incident, around 10.30 pm, Prakash visited Sunanda on the pretext of sorting out their differences. But Sunanda did not respond properly.

Angered by her behaviour, Prakash repeatedly attacked his wife with a kitchen knife.

The victim’s mother, Gouramma (68), rushed to her rescue but was attacked by Prakash.

On hearing the women’s screams, their neighbours rushed to the spot and found Sunanda lying in a pool of blood. They rushed her to a hospital but doctors declared her brought dead.

The Bagalagunte police were alerted about the incident. Prakash was arrested within few hours.
