The theft took place in June when the victim was away on work. He returned on July 4 to find valuables, including gold, diamond and platinum ornaments, silver items, and cash missing, and filed a complaint.

The police arrested Subo on July 7 and recovered the stolen items from his house. He was later remanded in judicial custody.

During questioning, Subo confessed he committed the theft as his father was unwell and he badly needed money.
