The deceased motorcyclist has been identified as Anand Kumar (35), a resident of Hosakere Street in Thyamagondlu village, Nelamangala Rural. He worked as a manual labourer.

After finishing work for the night, Kumar was riding his motorcycle on the service road of National Highway 48 (Bengaluru–Tumakuru Road). Around 8 pm, the TT, coming from Sondekoppa Circle towards Danoji Palya, rammed into his bike. The driver did not stop and fled the scene.

The impact threw Kumar off the motorcycle, causing severe injuries to his head and limbs. He was rushed to the Nelamangala Government Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

On receiving the call, Nelamangala traffic police officers inspected the scene before registering a case and reviewing roadside CCTV footage to trace the absconding vehicle and its driver.
