Around 150 Namma Metro passengers were stranded at the Cubbon Park station for 10 minutes after the train developed a “mechanical snag” around 7.30 pm on Friday.

All the passengers were deboarded at the Cubbon Park station, while the empty train moved to the pocket track at Majestic.

“The commuters were sent within 10 minutes by the next train. There were only 150 commuters onboard,” Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited spokesperson U A Vasanth Rao said.

“This is my first journey on the metro. I was worried as the train was stuck between two stations. But we were deboarded at Cubbon Park station safely,” Jnanika, a resident of Yeshwantpur, said.

Another passenger said that there was an announcement that the train would resume operation shortly.

“This brought some relief to us,” he said. Soon after the incident, there was a heavy rush of passengers at the Cubbon Park station and the train plying from Baiyappanahalli was packed.
