According to police, Durgi Shekhawat, a native of Madhya Pradesh, hanged herself with a veil at her room in the ladies hostel of the college. The deceased did not share her room with anyone.
It is said that the student might have slipped into depression after she was suspended from the college.
But police are yet to confirm whether she was indeed suspended. The body has been kept in the mortuary of the Ramaiah Hospital where a post mortem will be conducted on Wednesday.
