Addressing reporters after a meeting with the BMRCL officers here on Friday, Home Minister R Ashok said a detailed inquiry has also been ordered into the incident.
Disciplinary action will be initiated against engineers who were in-charge when 30-tonne beam slipped from the hook of a crane while being placed on the top of a column and had narrowly missed falling on a passing BMTC bus.
“We have directed all contractors that henceforth senior engineers need to be present to supervise work during major construction operation,” Ashok, who is also the district in-charge minister of Bangalore, said.
