Dr MGR Seva Kendra will be inaugurated in the City by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa at the Central College on March 16 at 10 am.
Former Tamil Nadu health minister Dr H V Hande will attend the programme.
According to B Muniyappa, former AIADMK MLA and Seva Kendra secretary, the organisation will take up the cause of the poor with the government, as part of its social work.
However, the Kendra will not support any political party or candidate, he said.
Muniyappa said that a membership drive would be launched across the State so that Kendra branches could be opened to extend help to the poor.
