The Vidhana Soudha police are on the lookout for a middleman who fled after taking Rs 5,000 and the medical records from an ailing family in Hiriyur, Chitradurga, assuring them of financial help from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

The victim, Mubarak, approached officials at the chief minister's office and narrated his ordeal following which an official from the office of the Joint Secretary of CM’s Relief Fund lodged a complaint with the Vidhana Soudha police.

According to the police, Mubarak was unable to bear the treatment cost of his minor daughter's chronic illness. The accused Mohammed Husen approached him and took Rs 5,000 and all the medical records from him, promising him financial help from the relief fund. The accused then approached the CM’s office and submitted the application following which the claim was rejected. Husen then forged Mubarak’s medical documents and submitted them to the office again and disappeared.
