The heavy downpour on Saturday midnight uprooted trees in several areas, including Byappanahalli and Doddakallasandra.

Power supply in parts of Electronics City was also disrupted during the thundershower, which was accompanied by strong winds.

Vehicular movement was disturbed on Old Airport Road as a tree was uprooted near the Swami Vivekananda metro station. Later, the traffic police along with the BBMP workers chopped the branches to ease the traffic bottleneck.

Even though the rainfall in the Electronics City area was not as heavy as other parts of the city, there was no electricity throughout the night.

Treefalls were reported in several parts of CV Raman Nagar as well. The incidents have led to disrupted traffic movement over the past two weeks in the area, irking the residents.
