Four minor boys who went on a temple visit to Hosur have been rescued by the police and handed back to their families.

The boys — Chandan (12), Nandan (12), Karthik (15) and Vikas (15) — made a sudden plan to visit the temple in Hosur on Saturday afternoon, but did not return home as they feared their parents would scold them for coming home late at night.

The police found the boys, who are all related to each other and hail from Manchanahalli in Attibele, roaming the streets of Hosur early on Sunday morning and brought them back home.

They said the boys, studying in classes 6 and 9, were playing on Saturday afternoon when Vikas came up with the plan to visit the temple.

When they finished the trip, it was very late and the boys were afraid that their parents would beat them for coming so late. The parents panicked over the missing wards, especially after rumors of child kidnappers were doing the rounds, and filed a complaint with the Attibele police after searching in and around their village.

The police formed a special team and found the boys about 10 kilometres away from home in Hosur.
