No casualties or injuries were reported, the police said.

The explosion, which occurred in the morning, also caused minor damage to the nearby Ramaiah Institute of Technology.

A preliminary investigation suggests that a gas leak inside the restaurant may have triggered the explosion. “We have launched a probe to ascertain the exact cause,” a senior police officer said.

Officials from the Sadashivanagar police station and Fire Department visited the site to assess the situation and ensure no further damage or risk.
