The victim has been identified as Rajendra.

Yeshwantpur traffic police noted that the Nagasandra resident was riding his scooter towards the GST office near Mehkri Circle when the accident occurred around 10.30 am.

“We don’t have CCTV footage but eyewitnesses told us that the Bengaluru-bound bus moved slightly to the left under the metro station and hit Rajendra’s scooter’s handle,” said the police.

Rajendra fell off his scooter and was reportedly dragged by the bus’ left rear wheel for about 25 metres, police added. He died on the spot.

Police have impounded the bus and detained the driver. They have booked the driver under sections 279 and 304a of the IPC.

Rajendra is survived by his wife and his college-going son.
