A postgraduate student was found dead in her hostel in northern Bengaluru’s Peenya 2nd Stage on Friday, police said.
Sai Shri (22), a first-year MSc student at the MS Ramaiah College, is suspected to have committed suicide after returning from class. The incident emerged when her roommates returned and found her hanging from the ceiling fan. They alerted the hostel warden who, in turn, called the jurisdictional Rajagopalanagar police.
Police said they didn’t find any suicide note. Sai Shri’s family is also unaware of why she ended her life. Police are questioning her classmates and checking her call detail record for clues.
