Madhusudhan was helping others inside the six feet deep pit in removing the mud. The site did not have retaining wall. There was no arrangement to prevent the mud from caving in.

Three labourers came out of the pit, while Madhusudhan was struck there and was buried alive, the police said.

The labourers pulled him out and shifted him to a nearby hospital. But he was declared dead on arrival.

Three labourers also sustained injuries in the incident. One of the injured is Nabisaab. They were treated as outpatients.

According to the police, Madhusudhan and the labourers did not have any safety measures. The police have booked a case of death due to negligence against the builder.
