Mum is the word from BMRCL on deadlines

The issue of certification from the Railway Board and Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO) had earlier embarrassed Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and the BMRCL.

Now, though the BMRCL will be receiving the certification, it is still not positive about announcing the new deadline.

The BMRCL has already failed to meet the two deadlines set earlier on starting of commercial operations of Reach-I. Hence, the Corporation now  wants either the Centre or the State government to decide on the new deadline.

However, trial runs are being carried out at the desired pace. Though the RDSO has issued speed certification, the Corporation is awaiting RDSO’s nod for oscillation trails.

Following the oscillation trials, Commissioner in-charge of Railway Safety (CRS) D K Singh, who is currently studying the 40,000 page Metro case, will conduct the inspection.

Unlike the run up for the April 4 launch, the BMRCL is looking forward for June end to complete the civil work on stations.

Speaking to Deccan Herald, BMRCL Spokesperson B L Y Chavan said “Our priority is to secure the certificates. The decision on the new deadline will be taken by the “stakeholders” (Centre and Government of Karnataka).”
