Kulkarni told reporters that he will obey the orders of the court. He said, 'I was strong, hence have been targeted. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and the entire Congress party is with me. Family members will look after the constituency."

He said that it was a conspiracy against him and hopes that by the end of the case, it would be all good. "We had been expecting the case closure soon, but the bail has been cancelled and I have been asked to surrender. I shall surrender in Bengaluru."

Regarding a section of people opposing the implementation of Mahadayi project, he said, "North Karnataka needs water for drinking water needs. Tunnels will be laid which would harm neither the forests nor wildlife. After considering all aspects, Mahadayi River Dispute Tribunal has been allocated waters for drinking purposes and the Centre should give environmental clearance to facilitate implementation of the project."
