The six-coach trainset was to be unveiled on Friday afternoon in the presence of senior BEML management and BMRCL officials.

But with Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar deciding to inspect the Blue Line works around the same time, the event has been rescheduled to Thursday.

Originally slated for delivery in June 2025, the prototype was delayed due to shortages of key equipment and delays in type tests.

Once the prototype arrives, the BMRCL will seek statutory approvals for the new rolling stock. The Pink Line's elevated section is slated to open in May 2026.
