Bengaluru: On the occasion of National Space Day, Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium hosted multiple events on Saturday.
The event began with an inaugural session where B R Guruprasad, Director of the Planetarium, explained the significance of National Space Day, while Chief Guest B N Ramakrishna, former Director of ISTRAC and now Professor at U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC), highlighted the difficulties involved in executing a complex mission like Chandrayaan-3 and the skilled work that goes into it.
This was followed by a talk on ‘The Significance of Chandrayaan’s Success’ by the Planetarium Director.
The planetarium also organised five competitions — painting on the theme ‘Indians on the Moon’, Aryabhata paper model making, pick-and-speak, a quiz, and a jigsaw puzzle. About 300 students attended the event.
