The Bureau of Immigration (BoI) officials on Thursday arrested a 27-year-old woman from Nepal who was travelling using a valid Indian passport.

Immigration officials intercepted Sushma Magar, a resident of Kathmandu, as she presented her travel documents for immigration clearance.

During a casual chat with her, the officials noticed that though Sushma had a Nepali accent, she was carrying a valid Indian passport under the name Sheikh Yasmeen from Vempalli in Andhra Pradesh.

She confessed during detailed questioning that she was working as a domestic help in Vempalli for the past 10 years. She applied for an Aadhaar card and voter's ID, forging her name. With the help of Sheikh Samdhani, a local tout, she applied for the passport and obtained it.

Using the Indian passport, Sushma visited her native. She was caught as she landed at the Kempegowda International Airport from Kathmandu on Thursday. Officials have booked Sushma under various sections of the Indian Passport Act and handed her over to the airport police.
