Accusing the Central Crime Branch (CCB) personnel of extortion, a founder of an NGO has alleged that false cases have been filed against her after she refused to pay Rs 1 crore demanded by them.

Demanding suspension of the officials and staff, founder of Spandana Foundation KT Veena said CCB officials had filed three false cases and harassed her.

Speaking at a press conference on Monday, she said CCB Inspector Mohammed Sharif Rawther, along with other staff, demanded Rs 1 crore from her. She further said the CCB personnel alleged that she had received around Rs 4 crore from unknown sources during the time of demonetisation and filed the false cases against her. Her office staff was also arrested by CCB on August 18 this year. She said the officials made her sign on blank cheques.
