Common core foundational courses: First-year students in both the BA and BA LLB programmes will undertake shared foundational courses.

Majors and minors: Students can pursue a major-minor combination or a double major in disciplines such as history, sociology and anthropology, economics, and politics. NLSIU aims to diversify and expand these offerings.

Credit Requirements: Graduating with a major-minor or double major requires 148 credits, while completing the optional fourth year requires 172 credits.

The programme also includes Indian language learning, internships, and practice courses in cutting-edge fields such as AI and machine learning, filmmaking, and policy advocacy and analysis.

Admissions process

The BA (Hons) programme has a maximum intake of 60 students for the 2025-26 academic year. Admission will be through the NLSAT-BA, an all-India written test comprising two parts. The final selection will be based on cumulative performance, with applicable reservation policies in place.
